We are thrilled to host the second annual "Borscht for Belarus" event! Organized by Bird of Pray Foundation and Direct Connect Humanitarian Aid, this event is certain to be informative, encouraging, and fun. Steve Doty, Jeff Biscoe, Alan Marshall, Bill Compton, and Alexander Chernitsky will share their ongoing work in Belarus, and the immense progress being made there.

We hope you can join us to learn more about Belarus, meet the people who are working so hard to change things for the better, and enjoy a great evening of authentic Belarusian food, shopping, and events.

An Authentic Belarusian Dinner
You're in for a treat with this dinner! The chef is cooking up some authentic Belarusian fare. Soup (Borscht) with roasted pork ribs and chicken legs, boiled potatoes with dill and sour cream, Russian style Greek salad, and fresh yeast rolls. For dessert, you will be delighted to enjoy ice cream paired with Belarusian yeast pancakes. Tea, coffee and kvass will be served. Wine is available in the hotel's lounge.

This year we are offering gluten and dairy free options. Please mention if you would like to sit at one of the tables that are completely GF/DF when you RSVPk. Space is limited and we want to make sure we have enough seats to accommodate everyone.

There is no charge to attend the event this year, however most of the tables will be first come, first serve. We are offering the option to "purchase" a table if you'd like to guarantee your whole party will sit together. (The tables seat 8). If you're interested in this option, please mention this when you RSVP. The cost is $150 and guests at these tables will receive one 50/50 raffle ticket, double entry into the centerpiece drawing and their name or business name mentioned in the event bulletin.

Alexander Chernitsky
Artist, Humanitarian Activist - Minsk, Belarus
Alexander served in the Soviet Union military in the 1980s. In 1997, a few years after the collapse of the Union, he started a soup kitchen for street children in Minsk, Belarus, feeding over 100 kids per day. In 1999 he started a small shelter for children. Helping the homeless in his homeland of Belarus has been his passion for over 20 years.

Alexander is also a very gifted artist. He transports his art in his humble passenger van to present and sell in neighboring countries with better economies. His efforts have been primarily funded from his art over the years.
