About Us

Bird of Pray Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based out of Billings, Montana. We exist to provide humanitarian support and hope to children and families in need throughout the state of Montana and internationally. Our primary purpose is service to families and children in our community. Bird of Pray Foundation's Tax ID# 47-4774207

Our volunteer teams have worked and continue to work on humanitarian projects in Montana and abroad.  We have provided wheelchairs for disabled children, replaced roofs on homes and barns, replaced heating systems, provided educational materials, vehicles, clothing, winter gear, shoes and boots, food, baby supplies, medicine and vitamins to shelters, orphanages, foster families, and the disabled. Our dedicated teams evaluate the need being presented and do their best to help with a long-term solution. We work alongside U.S. embassies, local governments, organizations such as the Red Cross,
DirectConnect Humanitarian Aid, and many other local non-profit organizations.

We always establish the validity of a need before assisting anyone. We also continually monitor how funds are being used to ensure effectiveness. In order to increase our impact in assisting people, we love to network with other organizations to help provide a more complete range of relief.

A word from the founder...

Picture
I have been married for six years now. We have a five-year-old daughter, Amaris, a two-year-old son, Canaan, and another child arriving in August of 2019. When my wife, Chantelle, and I first met, we both noticed right away we had a similar desire to help others. Chantelle says “my kind heart and generous nature stood out immediately”, while her big personality and love for children caught my attention. We are both very involved with our community and church. The love of our Creator and the love of others is what drives us daily.

Helping others has always been very important to both of us. Early in our marriage, we decided that no matter what, we were going to figure out how to start helping people on a much larger scale. Through much prayer, creativity, hard work, perseverance and a few tears, praise God, here we are.

We couldn’t have accomplished half of what we’ve already been able to do without help. The mentors that God sent our way helped us in more ways than they could ever know and have been a huge encouragement to us. Steve Doty, the president and founder of Direct Connect Humanitarian Aid has been one of the most influential individuals we have had the opportunity to work alongside. We are incredibly thankful for all of them.

Bird of Pray Foundation is looking to work with individuals or organizations that are helping the abused, abandoned, and hopeless men, women, and especially, children of this world. We understand that this need isn’t just a distant plight that we see in pictures, but also something families and individuals face right here in Billings, Montana. We have a local focus as well as a worldview. In the book of James it says, “Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world." The weakest, most vulnerable people on this planet are orphans, and they are at the core of our work.

The entire board of directors and their families have the same goals and desires as myself to help those in need. Whether it’s food, medical care, education, counseling, supplies, or support, bringing hope is the reason we started this foundation and continually drives us to help it grow. Having good teamwork with those we work with makes a huge difference in the success of our mission.
