Valvarra
Borisov, Belarus 2019
Jeffrey Biscoe Yesterday I met Varvarra, a very sweet and very special girl in Zhodina, Belarus. Varvarra has Harlequin ichthyosis, a severe genetic disorder that mainly affects the skin. When she was born her mother was told she would not survive more than a couple of days. Thankfully she did and is now a very intelligent, very beautiful five year old girl! Unfortunately, there is no doctor anywhere in Belarus able to help with her needs. We are doing what we can to assist a humanitarian team from the United Kingdom, The Belarus Fund, to connect her with a specialist in Austria. Alan and Janet Bridgewater from TBF brought her a new book and an owl stuffed animal. She was so excited for her new book in English! |
